Biography

Django Del Toro, Django Matador in Japan, is a proud, flirtatious BC Sol A-Team blader in Beyblade Burst Evolution styled after a bullfighter, right down to his jacket. His pride can't handle back-to-back losses to Valt Aoi and Silas Karlisle, so after being demoted to the B Team, he defects to Sunbat United under Wakiya Murasaki, where he mellows and grows noticeably kinder to Valt and Rantaro. The manga sends him down a different path entirely: he stays loyal to BC Sol and fights with a different Bey, Inferno Ifritor Magnum Liner, instead of his anime Bey, Quill Quetziko Quarter Hold.

Appearance and personality

What They Look Like, and How They Behave

Of middling height, he keeps his lavender hair short at the crown but grows a long braid down his back, framing a light complexion and bright green eyes. His outfit takes the shape of a bullfighter's jacket in red, gold and black, worn with white gloves over a plain white work shirt and red tie, finished with formal red trousers.

Status and attention matter enormously to him, and he leans into both — flirting openly, presenting a manager with a rose during tryouts and making a point of noticing other girls, Shasa Guten among them, even mid-battle. That same pride makes failure hard to stomach: back-to-back losses that see him demoted send him walking out in search of a team that will properly value him. Finding a place with Wakiya's Sunbat United gives him something to be genuinely proud of, and the change softens him — he grows notably kinder and more polite to people, Valt and Rantaro included, whom he'd treated rudely before.

A proud BC Sol original who was swept by Valt, Silas and Stan in the anime, and whose ego sent him to another team rather than back to training.

Claims We Could Not Check

  • Matador literally means bullfighter, matching his bullfighter-styled outfit.
  • Django is said to mean strong, fitting his self-image.
  • One of only three characters, with Stan and Heinrich, who use generic Beys in the anime but named ones in the manga.
