Biography

Count Nightfell, "Count Night" in Japan, is a polite, gentlemanly phantom thief in the Beyblade Burst franchise who only steals Beyblades he can defeat in battle, treating it as proof of his own skill. Debuting in the manga stealing Baldur, Minoboros, and (temporarily) Valt Aoi's Valtryek, he is later possessed by the dark Shadow Amaterios 0 Xtreme before Aiger frees him by defeating him for Chouzetsu Royal King Spriggan. In the Turbo anime he steals Evel Oxford's Left Astro and Right Artemis Layers, fusing them into Fusion Aether 11Turn Zephyr, and is eventually revealed as the older brother of Zac the Sunrise.

Appearance and personality

What They Look Like, and How They Behave

Standing tall, he wears his gray hair to shoulder length and shows lilac eyes that are likely colored contacts worn as part of a disguise. A phantom mask conceals the right side of his face, beneath a black-brimmed hat set off with a moody-blue sash and feather. His flowing black cape carries moody-blue trim, matched by a moody-blue vest lining, moody-blue gloves and moody-blue cuffs on his black, calf-length boots, worn over a light-gray cravat, black vest and white trousers. He carries a gold walking cane topped with a red gem, which doubles as a grappling hook.

Thieving, in his case, comes with polish: he's confident and fearless about the work, speaks with courtly politeness, and carries himself like a gentleman even as he shows a cold, occasionally cruel streak underneath. Little rattles his composure outside of battle, but spotting a genuinely rare bey in action sparks real excitement and an open desire to claim it. His image matters enormously to him — he bristles when Hyde brands him a mere kosodoro and calmly insists he's a proper kaito, and reacts with quiet irritation when Valt nicknames him "Feather Hat," preferring his chosen title. He's also exceptionally discreet, having concealed his double life from Zac the Sunrise entirely, and he's skilled enough at disguise to convincingly pass himself off as other people, appearance and voice both, as he does with Evel Oxford and Ranjiro Kiyama.
