Biography
Alexander Zangiev is a minor antagonist from Boris's Beyblading army at Balkov Abbey in the original Beyblade series, trained from a young age to never accept defeat. He wields a bit-beast-less Beyblade called Matryoshka alongside a bizarre wrecking-ball-style launcher requiring the user to spin their entire body for momentum. Despite an early advantage in speed and power against Tyson Granger, he loses after Tyson receives coaching from his friends, resulting in Boris crushing his Beyblade and his removal by security. He briefly reappears, pleading with Kai from a holding cell, but is never seen again.

- His launcher resembles Robert's Flail but is based on a giant version of his own Beyblade.
- His purple-and-green Beyblade resembles Kenny's Hopper in attack-ring configuration.
- In the Japanese version, Boris crushes his Beyblade and throws him to security, a scene cut from the English dub for violence.
